Mechanism of Toxicity Analysis
As a key component of our preclinical services program, ImQuest BioSciences has assembled and validated a panel of in vitro and ex vivo toxicity and mechanism of toxicity assays to evaluate the toxicity and off-target effects of new therapeutic entities and to define mechanism of toxicity.
Prior to IND-enabling in vivo toxicity studies, in vitro and ex vivo toxicity and mechanism of toxicity assays allow prioritization of lead compounds, select lead compounds for pilot in vivo efficacy studies, and assist in the design of in vivo safety studies.
We can evaluate the effect of test compounds on the cell cycle, mitochondrial respiration and function, apoptosis, membrane integrity and oxidative stress. Additional assays may explore effects on cellular kinases, growth factors and signal transduction pathways. Multiparameter flow cytometry can also be utilized to further elucidate compound mechanism of toxicity.
