Our services are available for the evaluation of small molecules, natural products, immune modulators, biologics and therapeutic antibodies and provide necessary support from initial discovery, structure-activity relationship evaluation, lead identification and IND-directed preclinical development.

Herpesvirus Development Services
Our laboratory currently offers primary screening assays to identify inhibitors of HSV-1 and HSV-2, CMV, and VZV. In addition, we have the ability to perform a wide variety of secondary assays to determine the range and mechanism of action of your compound.
Evaluation of the test agent for efficacy and toxicity in combination with other inhibitors, as well as drug resistant virus selection and characterization, help determine the clinical potential of the compound.
- Anti-HSV and anti-CMV Evaluations
Primary antiviral screening utilizes a plate based assay that measures the ability of compound to inhibit HSV-induced cell killing with toxicity evaluations in parallel. A variety of HSV-1, HSV-2 and CMV isolates are available for evaluation. Infection can also be monitored by ELISA or qPCR. Primary cell assays available on request. - Anti-VZV Evaluations
A plaque reduction assay is used to measure the ability of compounds to inhibit VZV-induced cell killing by crystal violet or immunofluorescent staining. qPCR based methodologies also available.
High Titer Virus Stock Production
ImQuest BioSciences provides technical services for the production of high titer and highly infectious virus stocks for both laboratory and clinical strains. We can propagate, concentrate, and characterize at scales ranging from milliters to liters, saving you time and avoiding the tedious steps required for virus production. Whatever your needs, our scientists will customize the virus production process to your specifications.
Virus Production Services include:
- Production of crude virus preparations for clinical and laboratory derived strains
- Concentration of virus from crude preparations utilizing Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF)
- Determination of virus concentration by qPCR and TCID50 determinations
- Preparation of inactivated virus
- Isolation of viral proteins, RNA & DNA
- Quantification of proteins and nucleic acids
Documentation of final viral titer is provided with each lot of virus produced. Infectious virus in each pool may also be quantified by TCID50. Virus can be shipped domestically and internationally, and we are certified for the shipment of Category A and Category B Infectious Substances.
